Threat Hunting on the Network – by Hermon Kidane

Attackers have to talk to their infrastructure and that conversation always leaves a trace on the wire. This session breaks down three network behaviors that give C2 away: beaconing, long connections, and DNS tunneling, along with how strategic Zeek sensor placement determines whether you can see them at all. In the hands-on workshop, you’ll stand up RITA, dive into real Zeek logs from live malicious traffic, and hunt down each behavior yourself, capped off with a quick look at corroborating your findings on the endpoint using Velociraptor.

Whether you are a seasoned professional in the security industry or simply interested in learning more about hacking and technology, this meetup is the perfect opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and expand your knowledge. Don’t miss out on this chance to enhance your understanding of cybersecurity and contribute to a safer digital environment for all.

We hope to see you there!
